After a couple of days of, how shall I say it, slightly inclement weather (which is extremely rare) we had another good snowfall on the mountain. This does provide some spectacular views for our guests at Club Olympus.

This shot was taken at lunchtime today (Wednesday) from the Pool area at Club Olympus in Garden City.

Here below is a close up shot of Mount Teide using a zoom lens.

But of course the weather today is spectacular as you can see from the shot below, so while we have snow on Teide, we have sunbathing down at the resort!

We look forward to seeing down here in Tenerife shortly!

This week saw the first light sprinkling of snow on Mount Teide. At over 12,000 feet high, Teide (pronounced Tay-dee) is the highest mountain in Spanish territory. Here below is Teide photographed this morning (Saturday) from Club Olympus.

You can just see the snow on the West facing slope. It’s amazing that there can be snow up on the mountain and yet down here at the coast everybody is enjoying glorious sunshine and sunbathing like Tom and Carole Graham below.

Tom and Carole are originally from Newcastle but have been in Gosport, Hampshire for some time. The Graham’s own the Penthouse at Club Olympus and have been owners with us since 1990.

If you need some winter sunshine, then there is no better place than Club Olympus in Garden City, Tenerife,

When Jane and I fancy a quick Tapa, Las Rosas is a place we use quite often. It has a wide selection of Tapas as well as a full menu and everything is very reasonably priced.

Sedge (number 3 son and in charge of property development) is pictured here tucking into a very tasty “Salpicon de Atun” or “Tuna vinaigrette” as we would know it. The average Tapa is usually only a couple of Euros. They have a daily 3-course menu for 8 Euros which is great value too. You find Las Rosas on the same block that we mentioned earlier, just across from the Police Station which is past the Bus Station (sounds great that doesn’t it?!!). Again it is typically Canarian so they dont go a bundle on looks but food quality and value are outstanding.

Las Rosas is literally a 3 or 4 minute walk from Club Olympus, the owner and his staff are friendly and accommodating. They have a good wine list too and you will thoroughly enjoy yourselves!

Here below is a shot of the main Pool area at Club Olympus taken at 3 O’Clock this afternoon (Tues 23rd Dec). Just to get you ready for your next visit or to irritate you if it is freezing and chucking it down where you are!

Just look at that sky. Sorry guys, couldn’t resist.

We do look forward to seeing you all very soon.

Bon Provecho

At the International football tournament sponsored by Club Olympus, little respect was shown to our Club Olympus logo.

It happened to be behind the nets and took a right pounding, especially when Muzzy Izzet whacked a free kick straight through it!

Hedley Rhodes (Chairman of Club Olympus) said “It was a pleasure to be involved in the “International Soccer Sevens” event. We would like to thank Martin Tierney of "Soccer Experience" for organising the tournament. It was very well attended and supported and everybody had great fun, even if they did ruin my sign!”

As you can see, things have changed! Many of our owners and guests have suggested that our web-site needed up-dating. Well here it is.

We have made the ‘Blog’ the central feature as this is the most visited section of the site and is really a rolling newsletter.

We are also preparing the site to be fully interactive with a ‘members only’ section that will make communication much easier and enable members to view their accounts, make enquiries, order welcome packs, pay maintenace fees, book car hire, excursions etc. This will go live shortly.

Have a navigate around and see what you think so far. Welcome to our new site!
