Well known Hiker and photographer Paul Steele did the Masca walk in Tenerife recently. This is a tremendous and spectacular walk and one that many Club Olympus owners and guests have done.

Masca is sometimes called "The lost village". It was isolated for decades and is located in a very dramatic mountain valley that runs down to the sea. It is now easily accessible by road and the famous walk from the village to the sea is a must for any serious walker.

Recently we enjoyed a sneaky lunch at one of our favourite places. It was a great lunch with old friends, staff who have moved on and current team members at Westhaven Bay. This Restaurant can be found just above Ten-Bel on the Costa Del Silencio.

Here we have a real mixture of some of our favourite people. Some you will know such as Operations Manager Jean Faichney on the left and Ray Karlsen, in-house team leader waving at the back. On the right we have assistant resort manager Lupe Ortega.

We love this restaurant because of its location right on the sea-front and because of it's delightful French/Belgian menu!

Lupe is just taking a break from the local delicacy of a 'steak-on-stone' and I just caught our friend Stuart chewing into a mouthful of fresh clams. The atmosphere at Westhaven Bay is sunny, light and airy with a gorgeous breeze circulating around as we enjoy one of our favourite meals. The menu is a mixture of French and Belgian specialities including frogs-legs, snails, seafood kebabs, fresh fish and fabulous steaks.

As you can imagine, the desserts are outstanding and include 'DameBlanche' which is vanilla ice-cream with a hot white chocolate sauce and 'DameNoir', vanilla ice-cream with hot chocolate sauce. They also do an artist's Palette filled with a varieties of fresh fruit and sorbets.

There is something for every one here and you can not go wrong, just ask our Ray who made sure that a fan of duck breast fillets disappeared in no time at all !

Bon Provecho!

Many of our owners and guests are keen motorcyclists, so here is a shot that might appeal if you are a biker. It was taken while driving down the TF-5 Motorway from Santa Cruz to Puerto De La Cruz here in Tenerife with Mount Teide in the background.

Tenerife is a bikers heaven with miles of quality forest highway, spectacular views, dramatic scenery  and big biking communities.

It's easy to hire motorbikes here in Tenerife. The rental agency that many use is 'Hobby Motor', click here for their website. They are the closest to Club Olympus in Garden City (resort picture below)

If you are a biker, then come and enjoy what Tenerife has to offer!

I was recently sent this link by Bob Thomson, one of our timeshare owners here at Club Olympus.

It is a link to a beautiful time lapse video of the stars from Mount Teide. It really says a lot about what we enjoy in Tenerife. Click here to follow the link.

We can report lovely weather this week. Over the last couple of weeks it has been warm but we have experienced patchy cloud and an odd rain shower. Overall, as always, everybody goes home with a tan.

I took this shot at 4pm today (Friday 06) on the sea front in Las Americas.

Our guests at Club Olympus were all chilled out around the pool areas, where we have a great sun-trap.

I had a walk on the sea-front with my walking partner Terry Tomlinson from Rochdale. Terry, unfortunately,  was the victim of a hit and run accident earlier this year (which broke his leg) and I have had a rough bout of sciatica, so we haven't done much walking this year. However, we have endeavored to enjoy the wonderful scenery here in Tenerife.

We had a good flat walk along the front of Las Americas today to get us back into good shape and took a couple of shots along the way to share with you.

It is now possible to walk from the very end of Los Cristianos right to La Caleta on a beautiful walkway. The Island of La Gomera was super clear today and after about 3 kilometers we stopped for a refreshment!

Terry and I took a break at one of our usual watering holes, Bar Vilaflor on the seafront, (please note that Terry has the Large boot of beer). The Bar Vilaflor is a wonderful stop-off, their food is outstanding, their welcome is tremendous and the view is second to none!

Viva Tenerife!
