A strange phenomenon is sweeping parts of the Tenerife capital at the moment. Trees appear to be getting clothed!
Starting in the 'Plaza De Espana' the main Plaza in Santa Cruz, this trend is creeping outwards!
We spotted a group of older ladies fitting these crocheted and joined up squares to trees all over the city. We haven't worked out the significance of it yet but we are on the trail.
As soon as we find it, we will let you know.
Anyway, it's another reason to visit this great little city which is about three quarters of an hour by car from Club Olympus in Garden City. Santa Cruz truly is a mix of old and new and is certainly worth visiting. Buses head there and back every quarter of an hour from just outside our resort.
Superb Tapas bars and quality restaurants are dotted around the capital and for a small city it has plenty of museums and art galleries.
And.........................................Trees with coats on!
