The annual Sportsman's Dinner held at the Leeming Wells Hotel in aid of Manorlands Hospice was a great success last week with thousands of pounds raised for charity.
The guest speaker was Rugby League star Barrie McDermott pictured below centre with Ivan (right) and Tony Rhodes (left) of Club Olympus.
Prop-Forward Barrie played for Oldham, Wigan and the Leeds Rhino's.
He played in 2 Grand Finals, 3 Challenge Cup Finals and a World Club Challenge. He won 1 Grand Final winners ring , a Challenge Cup winners medal and a World Club Challenge winners medal. Barrie played 283 games for Leeds scoring 40 tries including 1 hat-trick.
Barrie is currently the head of youth development at Leeds Rhino's. He gave a very inspiring after-dinner speech at the Olympus Headquarters, Leeming Wells in the UK. He was great company and is looking forward to coming out to Tenerife for his hols.
